Huma Waheed is resident of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan by birth.First Huma completed her B.Sc and then got Degrees of LL.B and Master of Law (Company Law) from Karachi University, Pakistan. Huma did short courses to increase her vision of knowledge in Accounting Course from Bulsara Institute (affiliated with UK), Computer Programming Courses from Sindh Technical Board and Insurance and Reinsurance Course from Pakistan Insurance Corporation (now Pakistan Re-insurance Company Ltd) After Completion of her studies Huma stepped in corporate world and joined her first job at United Insurance Company of Pakistan Ltd in March 1986 as a Manager Under-writing and IT, as United was the one among few who installed Personal Computers at work place in 1986. In 1989 Huma got promotion as Assistant General Manager with more responsibilities of Claims, Re-Insurance, Legal affairs. Computerization of under-writing and accounts assigned to Huma as special task. Huma proved her abilities and hard work potential. In 1994 one more star added in her carrier Huma became Deputy General Manager. In the year 1997 she finally chose General Manager for the same responsibilities. In 2003 Huma was nominated and elected as a Director of the Board of the United Insurance Company of Pakistan Ltd. Company’s Board also nominated her as working Director of the Company. Huma engaged in following areas: Audit, Claims, IT, Income Tax, Corporate Matters, Legal Affairs & Reinsurance. Huma Waheed is also an important pillar of United International Group of Companies (Pvt.) Ltd and look after UIG Corporate matters. Huma is also a member of UIG Committees. GROUP Committee’s responsible to plan strategies, observe the operations and advising the group entities. Huma’s abilities are focused on IT, Income Tax, Corporate Matters, and Legal Affairs.
